Gav’s a super dad

If you want to get your hands on Henson then you have to accept he's a dad firstPARENTING experts are praising Wales’ top celeb Gavin Henson for his devotion to his children.

The reality TV star, who is currently trying to win a place in Wales’ rugby world cup squad, is putting his two young children at the centre of his new dating show.

Gavin has warned the 25 fame hungry hussies competing for his affections in Channel Five series The Batchelor they must win over his children first.

The series was filmed in luxury locations around the world including St Lucia where Gav, who is never one to steal the limelight himself, thrust three-year-old Ruby and Dexter, two, in front of the cameras.

Hunky Gav, who is seeking new love after splitting with former partner, the mother of his children, Charlotte Church said: “Seeing the girls with my kids might help my decision if I’m torn.”

Last night Maria Von Trapp, of the Welsh Parenting Institute, said: “Too many parents these days deny their kids the opportunities of appearing in cheap reality television shows.

“It’s as if they don’t want to take the lead shown by Katie Price and Peter Andre who’ve seen the positive commercial benefits of making sure everyone knows your top priority is being seen to be a good parent . Don’t forget Kerry Katona was named mum of the year a few years back.

“Well done Gavin. He’s not let the fact that he has an exciting new reality show and the possibility of a new love change what he is,  a celebrity dad.”
